This isn't one of those year-end favorite album or singles lists full of albums and singles you've never heard of. This is an actual accounting of what I actually listened to in 2015 - more or less* - as tracked by the last.fm scrobbler app. I wrote about my rekindled interest in last.fm back in March - after letting my account lay dormant for nearly six years since I initially signed up in 2006. I didn't jump back on the bandwagon for last.fm's social or music discovery aspects but rather for it's keeping track of what I listen to so I can better understand what exactly my favorite songs, albums, and artists are by how many times I listened to them throughout the past 365 days. Plus you know how much I love analyzing numbers and making lists. I will not mention that the goobers at last.fm have revamped the site this year with seemingly good intentions yet removed a lot of functionality and reporting without adding any value, at least for this user. Still, it does what it needs to do (scrobble songs) so it's all good. Here is the bottom 40 of my 103 Most Scrobbled Songs from the past 365 days, representing the specific period from 12/7/14 through 12/6/15. Surprised myself for sure with some of the songs while missing others and also definitely noticed a few songs in need of more listens going forward. Click on song titles to listen.

* = Actually, less. Regrettably, any music I listened to on my portable Apple devices, including all of the music I listened to in my car via Bluetooth was not scrobbled. Also, no Beatles songs are listed - before their albums were added to Spotify on Christmas Eve 2015, I listened to my 24 Bit hi-resolution Beatles files exclusively on the Onkyo HF app on my iPad Air.
What a very interesting beginning of a list. I cannot wait to see the rest of this. What an excellent idea for a year-end wrap up.
