Summer In Stereo #74

There's a story behind the band but it doesn't really matter because they had a Summer single with the rhythmic "Right On Track", released two more singles and then disappeared. Practically a one and done. "Right On Track" peaked at #7 on both the Hot 100 and Disco/Dance charts while hitting #64 on the R&B chart in Summer of 1987.  This one gets a lot of play out by the water.

  1. I loved this album to death back in 1987 and still do today.

  2. The story that doesn't really matter deals with a drummer named Madonna, right?

I didn't think I had this one in the collection, but upon further review, I found the 7 minute "Midtown Mix" on So80s Vol 8. Listening as I type.

  3. Madonna and other things. While perusing a few Rolling Stone back issues I noticed a little feature in the March 29, 1984 issue. Right there, on page 19, is Rock & Roll Rookies: Ten New Bands You'll Be Hearing From Soon and first up is The Breakfast Club. The other bands featured were Lone Justice, General Public, The Le Roi Brothers, The Assembley, Icicle Works, True West, Prefab Sprout, Del Fuegos and The The.

Supposedly, there is a second unreleased Breakfast Club album out there. Anyone have it or heard it?
