Christmas is about giving.  Many musical acts launch charitable projects for the Holidays with two of the biggest, most well-known being Band Aid and A Very Special Christmas.  A debate about which one of those two projects was better allegedly led to formation of Band Of Merrymakers, songwriter/producer Sam Hollander and songwriter/producer/lead singer of Better Than Ezra Kevin Griffin with support from their many friends in the biz.  The project's beneficiary is MusiCares and unlike those other two more prominent projects mentioned above, Band Of Merrymakers have apparently somehow figured out how to use streaming for the advantage of their charity.
The project launched in 2014 with the single "Must Be Christmas".  Response from the public as well as the artistic community was strong enough that plans for a full-length album were made. Sam and Kevin filmed a few interview videos about their project and to launch the album Welcome To Our Christmas Party this year, a couple of fun promo videos were filmed:
The album is close to a 50/50 mix of original penned tunes like the three above and traditional tunes like "Jingle Bells", "O Holy Night" and "Joy To The World".  It is getting a few spins here at The Hideaway for the Holidays while "Snow Snow Snow" has earned a coveted spot on this year's Christmas Mix.  Highly-recommended!  If I had the means I'd gift all of you viewers this wonderful, well-intentioned disc.  I bought mine but every little bit helps, so stream away.
