Another month has passed, and we have a fresh batch of scrobbles. Our personal countdown today features two ties: a four-way tie for the most listened-to song and a thirty-three-way tie for the second most listened-to song, giving us The Hideaway 37 for September. Before we begin the countdown, let's take a look at the New Release albums that garnered some scrobbles in September 2025.

Curiosity got the best of me with the Spinal Tap album and accompanying mockumentary sequel. Both were pretty bad. The most surprising listen in the graphic above is David Byrne's Who Is The Sky? We really enjoyed it all the way through a couple of times. And Cut Copy has yet to disappoint us. Moments sounds a little softer than their previous works and may require further listens. We also added these new oldies to the library last month:
Can't say that the Phil Collins or Foreigner albums sound any better than they already do on the early pressings we have, but we'll always be suckers for these super deluxe edition re-releases of our favorite albums, as we already have several on pre-order that are due over the next couple of months. Joni Mitchell's genius continues to unfold before our ears, and the well-done, as always, Bowie box was more of a completist purchase than anything else, as this latter-period Bowie has yet to reveal its much-lauded attraction to us. Listening to Hot Chip has been fun over the past twenty years, but our most listened-to, new-to-the-HERChives album this past month was the 47-track deluxe edition of On The Road To Find Out from Cat Stevens/Yusef Islam. Soooooo good. We're anxiously awaiting his autobiography. And now, The Hideaway 37. | SEPTEMBER 2025 — Top 37 Most Listened-To Songs | | |

Hard to believe, but the thirty days of September saw us register zero scrobbles on twelve days. On the other eighteen days, we tallied 2269 scrobbles. That's the lowest number of scrobbles we've had since March 2025. Two different artists had a pair of songs make The Hideaway 37: Billy Joel and KC and the Sunshine Band. The oldest song in the countdown came out in 1961, while the newest song was released in 2018. None of the thirty-seven songs has been on a previous countdown this year.

We're flashing back this month to September 2020 for The Hideaway 41. We were listening to a little bit of everything back then, though it looks like we were especially enjoying some power pop along with two different versions of the same song in the Top 8.
