Pentatonix's THAT'S CHRISTMAS TO ME (Deluxe Edition) [2015]

Guess which Holiday album was Number One on Billboard's Holiday Albums chart on November 8, 2014 knocking Idina Menzel's Holiday Wishes out of the top spot?  The one pictured above.  The same album held that primo position for ten weeks consecutively, until the seasonal chart's last date of January 10, 2015.  When the Holiday Albums chart returned on October 24, 2015, the album was at the runner-up position then dropped down to number Six the following week before rebounding one position the week after that.  A year and two weeks after it first rose to Number One on Billboard's Holiday Albums chart, this album once again ascended to the pinnacle of the chart where it has reigned for the past five weeks as I wirte this.
We're technically talking about two different albums and at the same time Billboard is counting them both as the same album.  Pentatonix released That's Christmas To Me in 2014 and then released it again in 2015 with five bonus tracks as That's Christmas To Me Deluxe Edition.  Below, the group returns to The Sing-Off in 2014 to promote That's Christmas To Me.
Before that, the group had come to national prominence by performing on and winning The Sing Off's third season in 2011.  They landed one Christmas tune ("We Three Kings") on the show's Songs Of The Season disc and three of their Christmas performances from the show were included on the digital-only release, Season 3: A Sing-Off Christmas.
Pentatonix released the six song PTXmas EP in 2012 and in 2013, they re-released the EP in a Deluxe Edition with an additional two songs.  I was in barbershop chorus as a youth, even made it to Illinois State championships in a quartet and have always been fascinated by acapella music so The Sing-Off was right up my alley.  Pentatonix is the show's biggest success story and I have four Christmas albums by them, including both versions of That's Christmas To Me. While I cannot take listening to a lot of Pentatonix in one sitting, I definitely enjoy their random songs popping up on Holiday playlists, especially the title track to their Christmas album and their stirring performance of "Mary, Did You Know?"  If you factor in the number of times my wife has played That's Christmas To Me in the car and around the house with the few times I've played the songs in playlists, it would certainly be the most played Christmas album at The Hideaway for Christmas 2015.
This concludes my series of Christmas music posts for 2015. Thanks to everyone who dropped by to visit us here at The Hideaway - we sure do appreciate it.  There will be no post on Christmas Day so do not waste your time looking for one. I sincerely hope all of you get the wonderful, meaningful and Merry Christmas you deserve.  May you get what you want as well as what you need.  The final installment of Disco Friday will confusingly air on Saturday the 26th.  See you then.
