NOW 56 [US 2015]

Now 56 is coming to town!  Making the journey to US store shelves the day before Halloween, Now That's What I Call Music 56 is packed with sixteen songs including nine Top 10s and three number 1s you probably listened to a lot this past Summer and another six What's Next tracks that the labels hope you'll like but probably will skip.  Meghan Trainor appears on two tracks as does Charlie Puth - the two actually appear together on one track. Five of these songs have already appeared on So Fresh The Hits Of Spring 2015 so maybe its not quite an essential purchase for you.  All I'm sayin' is you have the first 55, why stop now?
Have you guys seen Tom Cruise's wicked karaoke of "Can't Feel My Face"?  He also performs "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" while Jimmy mouths "Undercover Of The Night" and "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling".

Over in the UK, Now 56 came out back in November 2003. (Back in the US, Now 14 came out that same month.)  The double disc Now That's What I Call Music 56 features twenty-two songs on each disc and counts eight number 1s among those 44 tracks.  (Now 14 has one #1.)  Now 56 shares three tracks with its American contemporary Now 14. There are a couple of gems on the UK Now 56 and I will shine the spotlight on them below:

BONUS!
Sixty-three songs across three discs spanning six decades featuring Frank, Dean, Elvis, Marvin as well dozens of other deceased artists and quite a few living ones as well.  If you have no idea what to buy your parents or grandparents this Christmas, this set would make a nice gift.  My Mom would love it.  Though she might question why there aren't more female vocalists that she could sing along with like Karen Carpenter, Alison Krauss, Vonda Shepard, Patsy Cline or Minnie Riperton just to name five of her favorites that are not among the sixty-three.  Will be released in the UK on October 23, 2015.
