In somewhat of a countdown fashion, HERC will be featuring a different Casey Kasem Christmas show or countdown each day from now until December 25th, in reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent and ending with the very first American Top 40 Christmas countdown from 1971.
Near the end of his long and illustrious broadcasting career, Casey Kasem recorded several Christmas music themed shows for his latter day countdowns American Top 20 and American Top 10. Day 6 of the 12 Days Of Casey is yet another episode of An American Top 10 Christmas, another show that is not a countdown but rather just another really Special Holiday Edition of American Top 10, with three hours of music, trivia and audio clips from Christmas movies and TV shows including A Charlie Brown Christmas, Elf, A Christmas Story and Miracle On 34th Street. In fact, at the end of this show, Casey invites listeners to join him again the following week for "more Christmas memories and great Christmas music". According to the fans over at the AT40 Fun & Games Site, this is one of four American Top 10 Christmas specials that have aired annually since they were first broadcast in 2001-2004.
