Summer Chart Flashback: Summer Albums 1979

The Summer of 1979 found HERC between 7th and 8th grades, enjoying as many Gutbuster (a 12 ounce rectangular slice of deep dish pan pizza piled high with cheese, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and onion) slices as he could from Garcia's Pizza In A Pan, Home of the Flying Tomato Brothers, which was conveniently located just up the street from his junior high school.  He and his friends spent many hours and many dollars listening to Summer hits on the Jukebox there.

Between his own album collection and that of HERC SR., they had all but one of the Top 10 Albums of Summer 1979 (below) as neither one of them ended up buying #6.  A total of 27 different albums made the Top 10 of Billboard's Top LPs and Tape chart between May 26th and September 1st, a total of fifteen weeks.  Only two of those albums stayed in the Top 10 the entire Summer and they are #1 and #2 in the countdown below.
