"One break coming up..."
Volume 007 in the Backbeats series, Gimme A Break - 70s Breakbeats & Future Samples, contains 18 songs that were later sampled in other songs. In some cases, MANY other songs. HERC used the fine site Who Sampled to look up how many songs sampled each of the tracks on this disc:

Schoolboy Crush | Average White Band |
I Can't Stop | John Davis & The Monster Orchestra |
Are You My Woman (Tell Me So) | The Chi-Lites |
Wikka Wrap* | The Evasions |
I'm Glad You're Mine | Al Green |
Stick Up | Honey Cone |
Different Strokes | Syl Johnson |
Razor Blade | Little Royal & The Swingmasters |
Uphill Peace Of Mind | Kid Dynamite |
Lovomaniacs (Sex) | Boobie Knight & The Universal Lady |
Crumbs Off The Table | Laura Lee |
Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll | Vaughan Mason & Crew |

* this song sampled 5 other songs |
That Chi-Lites track is a favorite and it would be easy for HERC to hate on the samplers but the song below from 2003 is one of HERC's faves. (Ask his kids, they'll tell you - "Dad played it to pieces.") It remains the first (and last) Beyoncé CD he has purchased. Rich Harrison gets the credit for building the song around the sample.
