Was it a cosmic coincidence that it happened on his birthday?
Back then, the record label along with his management were promoting Prince as an 18 year old wunderkind in the studio which would have been true if the year of his birth was 1960 instead of 1958. Check out this scan of the 1978 press release that Warner Bros. issued:
Within a couple of years, the truth was out but like the song says "Age ain't nothing but a number" - HERC doesn't care how old Prince is or isn't, he's just glad the man is alive and still making music.
