So Fresh: The Hits Of Summer 2013 and Now: The Hits Of Summer 2013

Here's a free geography lesson for both of all the home-schooled Hideaway viewers (and HERC knows they're not viewers): Australia lies below the Equator, planet Earth's bulging waist line, which means the four seasons are opposite of those of countries north of the Equator.  So while we are on the cusp of the Summer Solstice (June 21, 2013) here in North America, Crocodile Dundee, Olivia Newton-John and all of their mates Down Under are fast approaching Winter Solstice.  This results in some serious wackiness: Santa Claus visits in the Summer which falls in December; Summer Vacation from school also occurs in December or January for students and the major record companies have formed two warring factions that issue competing hits compilations for each major season.

The album at the top of this post, the first shot in the annual Summer skirmish fired by the alliance of Sony and Universal back at the end of November 2012. The other side (EMI and Warner) struck back with their Summer Hits salvo two weeks later with a single disc collection rather than a double disc album.
