Mixtape Monday Playlisticle: SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES OF THE PARTY TAPE

Here's a 1986 essay by Charles M. Young that originally appeared in an esoteric scientific journal devoted to female anatomy. HERC found the torn-out pages in his file cabinet in a folder marked M!X TAPE.

Young's 12 Principles
01. Do a demographic study of the humans who will be in attendance
02. Invite every human you know
03. Get a good stereo
04. To make your tapes, allow a full day or several hours a night over a week
05. Program in segments
06. Gear the segments to the predominant personality type
07. Experiment judiciously
08. End with something surprising
09. Write down the contents of each tape and put the list in your pocket
10. Mollify the nabes
11. Remember the partyologist's code of ethics
12. Make an announcement

Thanks to everyone for everything!

  1. "An esoteric scientific journal devoted to female anatomy"... Good one! At the very least, this post proves that you "read" Playboy for the articles...

By the way, did I mention that Mixtape Monday rules?
