Made You Look!
Now That's What I Call 80s Dance gathers many of the post-Disco dance hits that charted in the UK in one set and makes for a rough listen with all the different styles. Still, three CDs of 80s dance music is better than no CDs of 80s dance music. This album was released in the UK on October 14, 2013 and is available as an import here in the States. Seeing as how it's a UK focused compilation, here's a baker's dozen of links to HERC's favorite tracks as seen on Top Pop:

Released a week after Now That's What I Call 80s Dance, Now That's What I Call Music! USA is three CDs filled with music from the last 20 years give or take, from the early 90s all the way up to, well, Now! The truth is, if you are a fan of pop music over the last 20 years, you'll already have most of these tracks so its not exactly a must-have. Britney, Xtina, Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, Usher, Gaga, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Kriss Kross, the Justins Timberlake & Bieber as well as some bloke named Elvis Presley are all present and accounted for along with many, many more. Them damn Peas, both in the pod and solo, account for nearly half of the tracks - not really, but they are appear on each of the three discs. Admittedly, HERC has less favorites on this one but here are a few anyway:
- Locked Out Of Heaven - Bruno Mars (2012) US #1, US Dance #11, US AC #7, UK #2
- Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) - Kelly Clarkson (2012) US #1, US Dance #1, US AC #1, UK #8
- I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - Scissor Sisters (2006) US Bubbling Under #102, UK #1
- Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols (2000) US Modern Rock #28, UK #5 (upon 2001 reissue)
- Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm (2001) US #23, US Mainstream Rock #18, US Modern Rock #1, UK #3
- Would I Lie To You? - Charles & Eddie (1992) US #13, US AC #15, US R&B #59, UK #1
