Have You Heard? THE TIMELORDS' "Doctorin' The Tardis" [1988]

This strange tune was released twenty five and a half years ago, in May 1988.  At the time it marked the 25th Anniversary of one of the UK's most beloved and enduring television programmes, Dr. Who.  (If you don't know about the good doctor, HERC ain't got time to tell ya.)

The Timelords were Time Boy and Lord Rock, aliases of King Boy D and Rockman Rock of The Kopyright Liberation Front aka The KLF (aka The JAMS aka The JAMMS aka The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu), who had 5 controversial and notorious UK Indie Top 40 hits before taking "Doctorin' The Tardis" all the way to #1 on both the mainstream UK and Indie UK singles charts.  Under their various guises, the boys would go on to have half a dozen more UK Top 10s.

The following four songs can be heard in "Doctorin' The Tardis":

Happy 50th Anniversary Dr. Who!

  2. The almighty KLF, b/k/a the Justified Ancients Of MuMu. I had no idea who Doctor Who was when this song came out, and it remains one of the best songs in their catalog.
