PLAYLISTICLE: Entertainment Weekly's 100 Greatest Albums EVER! [2013]

Entertainment Weekly‘s 100 Greatest Albums Ever is published in their annual summer Special Double Issue cover dated July 5/12, 2013.  The mag published a list it dubbed the New Classics just five years ago in celebration of it's 1000th issue - the 100 Greatest Albums 1983-2008.  Purple Rain topped that list, natch, and it's the penultimate album on the new list.  Not too shabby for the artist formerly known as the Artist Formerly Known As Prince.

Here are those 100 Greatest Albums Ever in album by album Spotify playlist form.  As he does, HERC includes expanded, remastered and deluxe editions of the original, sometimes explicit albums whenever possible.  Usually.  Unless, the newish version messed too much with the original artwork.  Album covers are placeholders for albums not yet on Spotify.

  1. Thanks for posting that list. A quick check indicates quite a few of those are in my digital music library (especially the "classics" - anything from the 80's and before).

  2. It is kind of a checklist for your collection, huh?

Still waiting for the next list to appear on Martin's View; maybe an updated Superhero movies list or a list of the most played songs on your iPod or iTunes libraries?

You can rest assured there are many more lists to come here on The Hideaway.
