It was 30 years ago today... The Police's SYNCHRONICITY [1983]

As they have done several times this year, two of HERC's favorite bloggers have simultaneously published their reviews/memories of one of HERC's favorite albums and today it couldn't be even more apt as they both featured Synchronicity by the Police.  Sample their posts after the jump...

By the time The Police had released their fifth album, they were already known for their semi-exotic or confusing album titles: Outlandos d’Amour, Regatta De Blanc, and Zenyatta Mondatta. Okay, maybe the first two were not confusing if you knew French, but as a kid I asked what was Zenyatta Mondatta, and what kind of song title is “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da”?

...I was in my freshmen year of college when this album was gaining popularity. My roommate Steve had this record in his collection and played it quite often. Because of that, I never really picked it up on vinyl - I could hear it as often as I wanted. In recent years, I’ve managed to fill in the deep tracks via digital downloads - to supplement those songs that appeared on the band’s greatest hits collection.
