MISCHIEF [1985]

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
Ohio, 1956

Thus begins Mischief, a good-natured, heart-warming story.  Originally titled Heart and Soul, then later Getting Lucky (which should tell you all you need to know about the film) the movie was christened Mischief just prior to release in 1985.  Never heard of it?  It was only in theaters for about 3 weeks but has since lived on via home video and cable television.
The movie features a young cast (above) starring in an otherwise PG movie with an R-rated scene. Confused?
After many supporting roles in TV shows, losing the lead in Blue Lagoon to Brooke Shields and having a minor role in the killer-car movie Christine, Kelly Preston burst onto movie screens with two lead roles in 1985: Mischief and Secret Admirer, both of which showcase the future Mrs. Travolta in her birthday suit. Thus the R rating. HERC has watched the film with his own parents and they both enjoyed it on a whole different level, as it reminded them of their younger days. So while it was a family film for HERC, it is not a family film per se - rated R for nudity, adult language, and situations.

While no soundtrack album was officially released, Mischief features at least 25 rock and roll classics from the early Fifties including tracks by Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, and Buddy Holly. The first 25 tracks in the playlist above are featured in the film --- HERC feels the rest of the songs in the playlist could have also been right at home on the film's soundtrack. What do you think?
