Using Billboard's Top 10 Albums charts from May 27th - September 2nd for the Summer of 1978, HERC tracked the closest Summer Albums race since he started with the Summer of 1974. One thin point is all the difference between #s 2 and 3 and the same holds true for #s 5, 6 + 7. It's a diverse collection of music with a little something for everyone. The Number One album had logged eighteen weeks at the top of the charts dating back til January before getting six more in the Summer of 1978. The Number Four album of the Summer also notched six weeks at the top during the fifteen weeks of Summer tracked for this countdown and then tacked on six more in the Fall. HERC is willing to bet that if you are reading this, you have one or both of those albums in your collection.
