'80s Compilation Week: SEDATED IN THE EIGHTIES [1993-2002]

DISCLAIMER: HERC doesn't own any of the discs in the series so he gives us the front cover art, his Spotify recreation of the track listing and other vitals as gleaned from the interwebtubes.

Following the release of the first two volumes in the Living In Oblivion series in 1993 (featured in tomorrow's post as '80s Compilation Week comes to a close!), a label known as The Right Stuff stepped into the fray with their Sedated In The Eighties series, mining the same EMI vaults as those Living In Oblivion discs while also enhancing their licensing agreements with other labels.  The series was issued over a nine year span and each disc contains 16 songs while cassette versions were limited to 14 songs.  Discs came in colored jewel cases rather than standard clear ones.  Another interesting thing about this series is each disc after the first one is titled with No. x instead of the usual Vol. x.

  1. I owned a couple of the Sedated In the 80's CDs too. All gotten in the mid-90's.

  2. Based on the emails and anonymous comments I'm getting, this is one of the least known compilation series in the genre.

Stay tuned as there is a whole lot more 80s Compilations discs and series coming this week, especially on Thursday [8/8] when HERC will present eight different series.

Is there any chance we will be seeing you review your Eighties comps on your site?
