PLAYLISTICLE: What I've Listened To The Most in 2016 - So Far

Once July rolls around, everyone with something to say publishes their Best Of and Worst Of lists for the year - so far. Here at The Hideaway, we're just gonna check my last.fm page and see what my most scrobbled songs were from January 1, 2016, through June 30, 2016. Exactly eighty songs were played five times or more during that period, making for a quick and easy countdown. For the record, only two songs from 2016 have made the cut and the average year of Hideaway Top 80 of 2016 - SO FAR is 1985 which is a bit misleading. The median year is 1979 which is much more like it. You may recall that we have counted down my 100 Favorite Songs each from 1973, 1976, 1979 and 1982 so far this year so the majority of my listening has been from those four years for research. Further examination of the data reveals I have listened to 1358 unique artists, 2449 unique albums, and 3379 unique songs during the first six months of 2016. Admittedly, my music listening was severely curtailed in April, May and even June but I have since gotten back into the groove as it were with more than a little help from my friends Mark, Martin, Adam, Richie and Jeff, as well as my lovely and supportive partner for life, my rock that lets me roll. Regrettably, every single song I listened to on my two recent epic road trips were not scrobbled as I was offline the entire time. That's over 3100 miles and nearly 50 hours of tunes, people - approximately 700 songs!
