I am HERC and my whole life has been leading up to this point. Well, not really but HERC has written about things he likes on other blogs as well as Amazon and Wikipedia for years now but this is his first time as the chief blogging officer. It is indeed an honor. At ease. As you were. Except for you, Slouchy - sit up straight!
Can't stress that word "like" enough - this blog will be a positive one. Snarky, condescending and sarcastic but positive. I'm shooting for an entertaining and sometimes educational and interactive multi-generational PG-rated family friendly blog, for kids from 6 to 106! (Sorry, Gammie, you didn't make the cut! Happy 108th Birthday!) As for all you pre-schoolers, kindergartners and home-schoolers out there desperately wanting to read this blog, you're almost there so keep eating your veggies.

One of the more annoying (endearing?) aspects of this blog will be the constant references to HERC in the third person or even plural sense. Get used to it. HERC writes that way and we write that way so learn to read that way. HERC SMASH!
Another endearing (annoying?) aspect of Herc's Hideaway will be the Spotify playlists accompanying posts so you can listen along while you read. To kick things off, here is an audio argument that 1982 was the single greatest year EVER in the history of recorded music but by all means, send in your futile rebuttals and maybe they'll get posted. Enjoy the tunes and you'll be hearing again from HERC. Probably.
