FLASHBACK: America's Top 10 May 15, 1983

Thirty-two years ago seems like forever to me - how about you?  Little did I know that after belatedly getting my driver's license on my seventeenth birthday in 1983, I would both discover a surprise secret admirer and first lay my eyes on the woman who would become my wife.  More so than any other episode I have shared thus far, I seem to recall actually viewing this episode of America's Top 10 when it originally aired - it all seems vividly familiar to me, gives me that weird déjà vu feeling, as I watched the burtiscurtis09 edit of the episode for today's post.  Would have loved to have had the trivia contest questions repeated but we take what we can get and what we get is three charts (Pop, Albums and Soul) along with three Spotlight video intros from our man Casey:
It is a tiny coincidence that this week's countdown coincides with the recent posting of Monty Greenly's Billboard collection (along with a few others) over at the American Radio History site.  Sharp-eyed viewers and those of you with long memories will recall I first mentioned American Radio History last year during HERC's Summer In Stereo and have since referenced it twice for America's Top 10 posts in January and March 2015.  What this unprecedented access to Billboard back issues means for me is that I'll be able to provide more charts with each America's Top 10 feature and possibly a few more stand-alone features now that I can track singles and albums week to week across charts.  Thanks to my good friend Mark for pointing out the unofficial announcement of the posting of the Billboard back issues on The Hits Just Keep On Comin' site.
